A well-known trader once said "A gambler will lose money as many times as necessary just for the thrill of winning once." Well, we don't like to trade that way, but let's face it, every trade is a bit of a gamble, and we tend to think we're doing it because we like the odds.
Here's a site that allows a bit of both. We love the idea of the "e-tinys". A bit of a shameless play on the e-minis but we don't hear anyone complaining. For those of you who want the thrill of trading with as little risk as you're comfortable with, and perhaps the occasional gamble on elections, Osama, or simply whether an index will close north or south of where it did yesterday, this is the place.
From their own site:
"Intrade is a person-to-person trading "Exchange". It allows you to trade in the most innovative, transparent and fun way on political, financial, current and similar events. Intrade members trade directly with each other. When you trade on Intrade you are pitting your wits against other members of Intrade. Intrade provides the platform whereby members can trade between themselves.
Intrade charges a fixed $.04 transaction fee per matched transaction lot that you trade. There is no fee charged for entering an order. Prices on Intrade are often much better than those available elsewhere, as the prices are established by you and other Intrade members at prices you want to trade at.
Intrade has long-term offers like "where will the Dow close at year end" and short term offers like "will the Dow close higher on the day."
Incorporated and authorized in 2001 to offer its services, intrade.com is a Dublin based Republic of Ireland limited company. The Allied Irish Bank provides banking facilities. The company auditors are PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Intrade has been featured on CNBC, CNN, FOX, WSJ and NY Times and other various business programs."
We think it's a hoot! What an idea and novel way to trade, big or small, for fun or money.
